Former child star, Tom Guiry, known for his role as Smalls in the movie “Sandlot,” was recently arrested for throwing a 35-pound dumbbell at a car windshield. A video of the incident obtained by TMZ shows Guiry tossing the weight onto a white Jeep, completely shattering the glass. The footage captures Guiry’s reckless actions as he casually strolls away, leaving the dumbbell to roll down the hood.
The Horry County Sheriff’s office responded to a disturbance call on June 2nd and found Guiry in the middle of the street. According to reports, Guiry was seen inquiring about his wife when the owner of the damaged Jeep confronted him about the shattered windshield. Guiry’s response to the victim’s frustration was an apology and a promise to pay for the damages.
Things took a more concerning turn when the victim claimed that Guiry also approached his doorbell with a knife in hand. This additional detail, along with the video evidence of Guiry’s destructive behavior, led to his arrest on charges of assault, disorderly conduct, and malicious damage. It appears that Guiry’s recent actions are a far cry from his innocent portrayal of Smalls in “Sandlot.”
This is not the first time Guiry has had a run-in with the law. In 2013, he was arrested in Texas for allegedly attempting to kick a police officer in the face and headbutting another. Guiry’s pattern of erratic and aggressive behavior is a cause for concern, and it remains to be seen how he will address these latest charges.
The fall from grace of a former child star serves as a cautionary tale of the dangers of fame and the struggles of maintaining a positive public image. Tom Guiry’s recent arrest for damaging a car with a dumbbell sheds light on the darker side of celebrity life and the consequences of irresponsible actions. As the story develops, it remains to be seen how Guiry will navigate the aftermath of his latest legal troubles.
