The Princess of Wales Enjoying Summer at Balmoral

The absence of the Princess of Wales from the spotlight has been noticeable to royal fans around the world. She has taken time away from official duties to focus on her preventative cancer treatment. Since her announcement in February, she has only been seen in public twice, once at the Trooping the Colour parade in June and then at the Wimbledon Championships in July. Despite expressing her desire to return to royal duties as soon as possible, she is taking advantage of a long summer break with her husband and children.

Previously, it was unclear what the Wales family would do during their holidays. However, it is known that the Prince and Princess of Wales typically take Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis abroad for the summer. Destinations like St Barths, Mustique, and the Isles of Scilly have been among their favorite holiday spots. Later in the summer, they traditionally join other royal family members at Balmoral, the Scottish residence inherited by King Charles after Queen Elizabeth II.

According to reports, the Princess of Wales will be joining her husband and children at Balmoral this summer. The idyllic residence in the Scottish Highlands is a beloved destination for the royal children. With plenty of green space, horse riding, fishing, barbecues, picnics, and sunshine, Balmoral Castle offers a perfect summer retreat for the royal family. Generations of royals have enjoyed summers at Balmoral, including Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Eugenie, and Princess Beatrice.

In May 2021, the Prince reminisced about his love for Scotland during an address to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. He shared how Scotland holds both his happiest and saddest memories, including the time he found out about his mother’s death while at Balmoral. Despite the sadness, he also treasures the joyous memory of meeting his future wife, Kate, in Scotland at the University of St Andrews. The connection he feels to Scotland remains deep and meaningful to him.

Overall, while the Princess of Wales is taking a break from official duties to focus on her health, she is enjoying a relaxing summer with her family at Balmoral. The idyllic Scottish residence provides a perfect backdrop for quality family time and cherished memories.
