New details have surfaced regarding the recent arrest of singer Justin Timberlake on DWI-related charges. According to the criminal complaint obtained by Page Six, the arresting officer of the Sag Harbor Village Police Department in New York observed Timberlake failing to stop at a stop sign and twice failing to keep to the right side of the road while driving a 2025 gray BMW. The officer pulled Timberlake over and noticed several signs of intoxication, including bloodshot and glassy eyes, a strong smell of alcohol on his breath, inability to divide attention, slowed speech, unsteadiness on his feet, and poor performance on sobriety tests.
Following the observations made by the officer, Timberlake, who is 43 years old, was arrested at 12:37 a.m. and transported to the Sag Harbor Police Headquarters for processing. He was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and cited for running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane. Additionally, Timberlake refused to take a breathalyzer test three times, stating, “No, I’m not doing a chemical test.” The Grammy winner was later seen leaving the police station looking visibly upset, accompanied by his attorney.
Reports suggest that Timberlake was pulled over after having dinner with friends at the American Hotel. It is unclear whether his wife, Jessica Biel, was present at dinner as she was busy filming a TV series in Manhattan. Interestingly, the arresting officer was reportedly unaware of Timberlake’s celebrity status and had to be informed by those present at the scene. Despite pleas from Timberlake’s friends to let him go, he was taken into custody for further processing.
In New York, DWI is a serious offense that indicates a blood alcohol content of .08 or higher. The state also recognizes DWAI, which pertains to a BAC of more than .05 but less than .07. Timberlake’s upcoming court date has been set for July 26, where he will have to face the consequences of his actions.
