NFL players who are concerned about the upcoming game in Brazil can relax, according to UFC superstar Gilbert Burns. Burns, who hails from Rio De Janeiro, believes that the athletes will be just fine in his native land.
Burns explained that while the issue of safety has been a talking point since the announcement of the game between the Eagles and the Packers in São Paulo, the city has its bad areas like any other American city, but overall, it is a beautiful place. He encouraged the players to explore the town during their free time, noting that they will blend in with the locals due to their physique.
Contrary to concerns raised by Philadelphia corner Darius Slay about the high crime rate in Brazil, Burns believes that the players will have no problems and will enjoy their time in São Paulo.
While the NFL has reportedly advised players to stay in their hotels during the trip, Burns mentioned that the UFC has sent similar memos to its athletes when they have fought in Brazil. He added that those who disregarded the advice did not regret it.
Addressing the notion that wearing the color green might cause problems, Burns denied ever hearing of such a belief. He assured that the players can expect a warm reception and a positive experience during their time in Brazil.
Gilbert Burns, who is scheduled to fight against Sean Brady this weekend in Nevada, expressed his excitement about the upcoming game in São Paulo. He emphasized that if he were not in the Octagon, he would be in Brazil to witness the event, as he believes it will be a significant and entertaining experience for all involved.
