Miller Moss, the standout quarterback for USC, was the subject of an investigation by the university nearly three years ago due to a feud with his roommate. The incident took place in the spring of 2022, right after Moss had completed his first season with the Trojans. While USC did not provide specifics about the situation for legal reasons, Moss released a statement expressing regret for his actions that led to the probe.
Video footage obtained by TMZ Sports shows Moss in his roommate’s living space near USC’s campus, appearing to go through personal belongings. In one clip, Moss is seen taking a shirt from the bed and joking about stealing it. In another, he is shown jokingly farting into a pillow he removes from the bed. Despite the footage, USC did not disclose how the investigation was resolved, stating that if a student fulfills disciplinary requirements, the matter is considered closed.
Following limited playing time in 2021, Moss served as the backup quarterback behind Caleb Williams in 2022 and 2023. However, when Williams opted out of the ’23 Holiday Bowl, Moss stepped in and delivered a stellar performance, throwing six touchdown passes in a victory over Louisville. In the recent win over LSU, Moss threw for 378 yards and no interceptions, solidifying his position as a Heisman Trophy contender for the current season.
In his statement, Moss acknowledged the dispute with his roommate and took responsibility for his actions, emphasizing that he has learned and grown from the incident. By expressing remorse and accountability, Moss aims to focus on the upcoming season and continue to showcase his skills on the field. Despite the past investigation, Moss remains determined to succeed and make a positive impact both on and off the field.
