The Fascinating Life of Cat Jarman

Cat Jarman, born in Norway in 1982, made her way to the United Kingdom to pursue her university education. She studied archaeology at the University of Bristol, where she earned her doctorate. Cat’s research focused mainly on the Viking Great Army, particularly its presence in Derbyshire during the 9th century.

Apart from co-hosting the Rabbit Hole Detectives podcast with Charles Spencer and Reverend Richard Coles, Cat also holds the position of honorary senior research associate at the Department of Anthropology and Archaeology. She has been actively involved in excavations around significant Viking sites, such as Foremark. Cat’s research has been featured in various films and TV shows, including Britain’s Viking Graveyard and Digging for Britain.

Cat is not only a researcher and podcaster but also an accomplished author. She has published two books, “River Kings: A New History of the Vikings from Scandinavia to the Silk Roads” in 2021 and “The Bone Chests: Unlocking the Secrets of the Anglo-Saxons” in 2023.

According to reports from the Mail on Sunday, Cat is currently separated from her husband, with whom she shares two children. While Cat typically keeps her children out of the public eye, she did share some photos of them enjoying a beach vacation during a half-term break. Cat opened up about the challenges of being a full-time working parent and the difficulties of balancing work and family life.

Following Charles Spencer’s divorce from his third wife, Karen Spencer, rumors have circulated about his growing closeness with Cat. Their paths crossed when Charles enlisted Cat to excavate parts of Althorp House, further fueling speculation about their relationship.

Cat Jarman’s life is a mix of scholarly pursuits, archaeological discoveries, and personal challenges. She continues to make significant contributions to the field of archaeology while juggling the responsibilities of being a working parent. Her collaborations with Charles Spencer and Reverend Richard Coles on the Rabbit Hole Detectives podcast showcase her passion for uncovering historical mysteries. Despite the rumors surrounding her relationship with Charles, Cat remains focused on her work and the legacy she is creating in the world of archaeology.
