The Rise of Kristin Juszczyk: From Football WAG to Fashion Designer

In the world of football, fame and fashion are becoming intertwined. As Taylor Swift takes up the role of a trendsetter in her relationship with boyfriend Travis Kelce, fans are now turning their attention to the wives and girlfriends (WAGs) of the players for fashion inspiration. Leading this pack is Kristin Juszczyk, the wife of San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk. Renowned for her bespoke game-day outfits, Kristin is not only styling herself but also designing outfits for fellow WAGs such as Olivia Culpo and Simone Biles. Her talent garnered attention in Jan. 2024 when she created custom Kansas City Chiefs-themed puffer coats for Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes to wear while supporting their partners. Overnight, Kristin Juszczyk became a sensation, gaining hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers and signing a deal with the NFL, granting her the license to use team logos on her clothing and sell her designs to the public. Now, she has released her first officially licensed item, a puffer vest in honor of Super Bowl 2024, with all proceeds going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. In this article, we delve into the rise of Kristin Juszczyk, from her East Coast origins to her journey as a prominent fashion designer on the sidelines.

Kristin Juszczyk may have found her place on the West Coast, but her story began on the East Coast. Growing up in Long Island, NY, she initially set her sights on the University of Rhode Island in 2012. However, after two years, she decided to transfer to Towson University in 2014. It was during her time at Towson University that she met Kyle Juszczyk, who was playing for the Baltimore Ravens at the time. In 2017, when Kyle signed a deal with the San Francisco 49ers, the couple relocated to the vibrant city. Their relationship deepened, leading to their engagement in the same year and their wedding in upstate New York in 2019. While studying business at Towson, Kristin also started a real estate business in Baltimore. However, after the move to California, she courageously followed her passion for fashion design, leaving behind her real estate career. In 2018, she launched her first fashion brand, Origin. Reflecting on this career shift, she wrote on Instagram, “It’s always scary taking a leap of faith and pursuing a dream with no guidance, but waking up passionate about your job eliminates the fear of the future and gives you the motivation to push through those hurdles!” Origin offered a range of everyday staples, from sweats to trendy tops to denim—a brand with a distinct identity that Kristin fondly described as providing “signature pieces” that caught people’s attention.

While Kristin successfully ran Origin for several years, the brand’s Instagram account has been inactive since late 2021. However, in 2023, she launched a new brand, Designs by Kristin, focusing on reworked NFL attire. While she had been designing her own game-day looks for years, 2024 marked the year she expanded the project beyond herself and dressed other notable WAGs. Simone Biles and Olivia Culpo have both been spotted wearing Kristin’s custom outfits, including a bespoke vest and a custom corset, respectively. The highlight of Designs by Kristin came when Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes went viral during a “dangerously” cold game against the Miami Dolphins in Jan. 2024. Their matching puffer jackets, designed by Kristin, caught the attention of millions. Overwhelmed with pride, Kyle Juszczyk expressed his joy in a video shared by sports reporter David Lombardi, saying, “She’s been grinding for years now and working so hard. I’m so happy to see her get her stuff out there, everybody sees it and recognizes it was hers.”

Beyond her flourishing career as a fashion designer, Kristin Juszczyk and her husband, Kyle, have also been proud fur parents. In 2020, Kristin introduced her Instagram followers to Mozzarella, an adorable all-white Samoyed puppy. The couple expanded their family further in 2023 with the addition of a second Samoyed named Pierogi. These fur babies, affectionately known as “Mozzi” and “Rogi,” often make appearances on the Juszczyks’ social media pages, melting the hearts of their followers.

Kristin Juszczyk’s journey from an East Coast student-athlete to NFL WAG and now a rising fashion designer is nothing short of remarkable. Through her determination, passion, and talent, she has carved a niche in the fashion world and captured the attention of football fans and Swifties alike. With her innovative designs and commitment to philanthropy, Kristin Juszczyk is certainly a force to be reckoned with both on and off the sidelines.
